Parent and Player Handbook
-
At WWVA, we want our parents to be involved.
Parent Leadership Council
These parents will be the communication link between team parents and club director. At commitment night, families can sign up to join.
Practice Etiquette
Parents are not allowed inside the gym during practice times. This is compliance by USAV that states all adults must be SafeSport certified to interact with the athletes. Protection and safety is our number one priority.
Tournament Etiquette
WWVA encourages parents to being positive role models to the team. This includes cheering for all athletes and being positive after a loss. Your daughters look up to you for advice so it is important we instill confidence and pride.
WWVA does have a fan gear shop and 15% of commissions goes directly towards the club fund and we encourage families to represent how amazing our club is!
If you are upset with the coaching staff for any reason outside of playing time, please communicate with the head coach or club director directly.

Coaches must have physical evidence for playing time and justification on all team decisions i.e scored practices, stats, and video film.
To request a meeting, the athlete will need to communicate to the coaching staff directly to resolve the issue. If the issue is not resolved, then you can schedule a meeting with the club director.

If your team travels,
Coaches and volunteer parent drivers are expected to drive athletes to the tournament if a parent/guardian is not available.
Coaches cannot accept monetary gifts directly from any member of the club while traveling. Parents can offer to purchase dinner, but the purchase of alcohol for coaches is prohibited.
Coaches will work with Team parents to organize hotel room assignments and do room checks at 9pm. Players are expected to turn in their devices at night, besides the Captains who are responsible for waking up the team for breakfast.
